Emma Back is a mother, music ceremonialist and song midwife. She creates cinematic devotional chamber-pop in service to motherhood, to women and to the sacred feminine.

Armed with her violin, her mezzo-saprano voice, and an Ableton Push controller she creates lush string arrangements, atmospheric soundscapes, and intimate poetic vocals, inviting listeners into spaces of reflection, embodiment, and expansion.

Her work bridges contemplative, lyrically-emotive songwriting with immersive live experiences that invoke both the rituals of deep listening and somatic exploration.

Emma birthed her daughter, Juniper, in the fall of 2024 and since then her music- making has become intrinsically tied to her journey into motherhood and the portal of spiritual surrender that it is.

“Juniper Tree Lullaby,” her first release since becoming a mom drops is on her daughter’s 2nd birthday, 9/20/26.

In addition to her production and performance life, Emma is also a voice and song midwife. Through her organization She Sings Out Loud, she guides women to re-thread the sacred connection between their throat, heart, womb and p🌸ssy using the tools of singing, songwriting and music production.

Over the past decade she has helped 1,000s of women alchemize their wounds around being seen and heard and begin to offer their voices and their songs in service to the earth, to humanity and to the divine.

The track was self-produced and mixed in Emma’s tiny-house-on-wheels-studio in Vermont, over 9 months, first while singing Juniper to sleep and then in stolen moments during her naps, after her bedtime and even while she was nursing.

This is a song for mothers, for children and for anyone who wishes to connect to the child within and remind her of her strength and power, with tenderness and care.
